Family · Nephew and his mates
Sweet Dezire belongs to Mahir’s nephew and his mates. Manchester desserts made to order: cakes, crepes, waffles, cookie dough, shakes. Late hours, delivered hot across the city, with Uber Eats as a door when direct delivery is not in postcode.
They needed a till, not a pretty menu. The same system runs as an Expo app on iOS and Android and as a Next.js storefront. A customer can check a postcode, schedule a slot, pay with Stripe or Apple Pay, collect stamps, and watch the order move. The kitchen sees the same order on a live queue.
What the build does
Technical on purpose. Useful in the room.
- 01
Order without a phone call at 1am
Menu, modifiers, basket, collection or delivery, scheduled slots, and promo codes. If the shop has paused orders or the postcode is outside the radius, the customer finds out before they build a basket.
- 02
Money that works on a phone
Stripe cards, saved cards, and Apple Pay on iOS. Webhooks confirm the payment before the kitchen is asked to cook. That is why a late order does not vanish between the app and the counter.
- 03
Stamps instead of a paper card
Loyalty lives on the account. Repeat custom does not depend on a stamp card in a kitchen drawer. Receipts go out by email in a thermal layout the shop can actually recognise.
- 04
The queue is the kitchen
Staff advance prepare, ready, collected, or out for delivery on a realtime board. Push tells the customer. Driver location can publish while an order is on the road. The group chat is no longer the operating system.
